On Ending Seed Sessions

After two years, over 30 performances, and hundreds of guests, Saturday, September 27th marked the final Seed Session. It was a meaningful ending, poetry, dance, visual art, ritual, and connection all came together one last time.

I’ve been asked often why I decided to end Seed Sessions. The events were well attended and clearly valued. But the truth is, there isn’t one single reason. It was a combination of things. Mostly, it just felt like the right time.

I’ve been trying to trust my gut more, and this felt like a moment to listen. All good things have their season, and I sensed this one had come to an end. Like many things we’ve done here, Seed Sessions started as an experiment—born from the Terra Incognita Land Art Exhibition. I wanted to carry forward that spirit in a more intimate and connected way. At the start, I wasn’t even sure if people would be interested.

But they were. And we created something real.

I’ve never been interested in doing something just to keep it going. I always come back to the question: why? Why am I doing this? Why does it matter? Why me?

Closing this chapter creates space for whatever comes next. I don’t know exactly what that is yet, but I have a few ideas forming. I’m confident that there will be new ways to build community, connect with nature, creativity, and each other.

Thank you to all the artists, writers, musicians, performers, and speakers who gave their time and talent. And thank you to everyone who came out, witnessed, and supported them. You helped make it what it was.
