Sunset Forest Bathing and Poetry Reading

  • The Verdancy Project Troutdale USA (map)

Experience the magical land of The Verdancy Project through the restorative practice of forest bathing. Forest bathing is inspired by the Japanese tradition of shinrin-yoku.  Connect with your senses, relax your nervous system, and nourish your whole self while moving slowly and intentionally through this gorgeous forest ecosystem along Beaver Creek.

Your guide for this experience will be Julie Jansen of Earthbody Presence, a certified Forest Therapy Guide.  She will offer a series of invitations to help you cultivate presence and interact with nature in creative new ways.  You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with the other people in our small group and feel the power of community.

As the light softens toward golden hour, we'll gather beneath the trees for forest tea and snacks as we watch the sunset together. Julie's forest teas are something special, blended from plants she lovingly and sustainably harvests herself from around the Pacific Northwest.

As the world begins its transformation from day to night, Joellen Sweeney will read poetry that finds the extraordinary woven into the everyday. Much of her work moves through the beauty and mystery of the natural world, a perfect companion to everything the evening has already offered.

This is an experience for your nervous system, your sense of wonder, and your sense of belonging, to this place, to this season, and to the people gathered with you.
