Jewel Weed Block Print

$10.00

Elevate your space with our beautiful 7.5”x5.5” block prints, meticulously crafted to capture the timeless beauty of the flora and fauna found on The Verdancy Project Property. Immerse yourself in the essence of nature with each unique piece, a harmonious blend of artistry and inspiration.

Please note that the block print you receive will not look exactly like the pictured piece. It will be very similar as we have created several of print and each is unique.

Jewel Weed / Touch Me Not - Impatiens capensis - Jewelweed has a long history of use in Native American medicine. When applied topically, sap from the stem and leaves is said to relieve itching and pain from a variety of ailments, including hives, poison ivy, stinging nettle, and other skin sores and irritations. The sap has also been shown to have anti-fungal properties and can be used to treat athlete’s foot.

The showy orange flowers of jewelweed must be cross-pollinated by insects or hummingbirds. However, jewelweed also has inconspicuous flowers that never open. These flowers (termed cleistogamous by botanists) fertilize themselves and produce seeds without ever exchanging pollen with another flower.
